Marjorie Dannenfelser; what it looks like in Print.

I’m not sure how many people who view this blog are also subscribers to World Magazine, but I thought this photo was a good example of how what I do doesn’t stop with me. Sometimes, the photograph is the least interesting thing about the story. And some other times the design work saves or improves the photograph.
This shot like many I do for World was pressed for time. It’s creatively challenging to make something new and fresh every time. I had 20 minutes.. and I was forcing a setup that I had pre-visualized and that, I might add, wasn’t working. When I submitted my work to the editors I had in my mind what I thought were the “usable” images. However, they picked one completely different. Then Rachel Beatty, a graphic designer now working with World improved on the image with her layout and typography. I just wanted to give her kudos here and divert some credit to the team of which I am only a part.
